The Young Voices of Unity Choir in Wilmette, IL will again begin its rehearsals in September 2012. Young children and youth ages 9 to 17 and from all backgrounds and traditions are still welcome to join at anytime. Singers in the Young Voices of Unity Choir learn songs from various cultures and Faith traditions and in many different languages. They perform every 4th Sunday of the month at the Bahá’í House of Worship in Wilmette, IL. Members of the Young Voices of Unity are given professional vocal training from a professional voice teacher. They learn singing diction and pronunciation for English as well as for other languages. The singers are taught about virtues as building blocks to developing good character. Click on the link for more information about the Virtues Project. We value artistic excellence, discipline, beauty, diversity, commitment, and the uniqueness of every singer. We see the choir as a means to helping each child view the entire world as one country, in which all children are equal. We believe that music can help to unify the world.
