Voice Lessons |
For all of you who love to sing, feel the wonders of learning more about your own voice, how to breathe,
how to project your voice, increase your range, and improve your overall technical skills!
Voice lessons are for EVERYONE. I believe that everyone can sing, and that includes YOU. In our Western world, for some reason, singing is related to talent. There is nothing more far removed from the truth. Just think about it: In Africa, everybody sings. If someone begins voice lessons with a lot of talent and doesn’t work hard, they won’t get very far. But someone with very little talent who works very hard and sings a lot, can get much further than the originally talented person. Music is all about work and repetition. And knowing how to sing, how the body works, where the resonance cavity is for singers, will help you tremendously to understand your own instrument and then singing will become more natural. I have a Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy so I will teach you how your instrument works and you will be amazed how things will change already after the first lesson, and then progressively over time!
Taking voice lessons is also a form of music therapy which provides a wonderful outlet for letting go of emotional blockages, This is especially true of the voice, as compared to any other instrument, because our voice is our own instrument, it houses the emotions of communication, openness, fear and control, to name but a few. Learn more about your self through the power of singing.
Here are some papers I wrote: the first one is about how breathing improves our vocal technique, and the second one talks about how the Dalcroze method helps in the music learning process. The third one is my Master’s Thesis on French-Canadian songs and how they should be included in all singers’ repertoire, as their pedagogical value is equal to that of French mélodies. These papers are copyrighted. Please ask permission before reproducing any section of them.
