We offer piano lessons to beginners. Students from 4 to 99 are welcome.
Why take piano lessons?
Learning to make music is a wonderful skill and a way of expressing one's self and being creative. Learning to play the piano develops fine motor skills, visual skills, and listening skills by combining them all together. At Manifold Melodies, students will participate in two yearly recitals, one in May and one in December. Developing performance skills goes beyond learning to play in public, it also develops the ability to get up in front of others, which will later give students confidence to speak in public, present papers, and interview for jobs.
For students who are looking at playing in band or orchestra, piano lessons are a huge benefit. Piano lessons teach the child the basics of music, reading notes, learning scales and music terminology, without having to learn how to play a violin or trombone at the same time. Later, the student can concentrate on the specifics of the new instrument.
Private lessons are the traditional way to go because this one-on-one provides maximum time with the teacher for developing repertoire focussing on each student’s needs and learning patterns.
